About Us

I dig in the dirt A.LOT.

I believe in keeping the planet healthy

I believe in keeping the planet healthy

I find the dirt to be restorative. When I had the most stressful days- students, colleagues, friends, and family their pain turns into mine. Maybe I'm too empathetic- maybe I'm human. Whichever digging in the dirt, feeling it in my hands, pulling out worms, and digging up grubs-(GROSS!) helps me feel better, more connected, calmer. Really

Really, the garden has become part therapy, part art, a place to breathe

When it comes to weed and pest killing I believe it's vital to not put poisons on my plants or in the soil. Our yard is a living, breathing, being. We have birds by the dozens, all sorts of bees, butterflies galore, and mammals of all kinds. I feel responsible for their health and the health of the planet, even if I can't control the world, I can control our piece of it.

I love to share the joy of gardening

I love to share the joy of gardening

Every year I hold a bi-annual plant sale, full of low-maintainence perennial plants. Heaven knows once I plant a plant I want it to come back year after year! I love to share that wealth.

Kent is the muscle in the garden. He weilds a mean chainsaw and is occassionally tasked with digging holes. However, he tends to dig up rocks as big as cars.
